There is acute shortage of skilled and unskilled workers at construction sites. Even when they are available, they are not of desired standard to achieve good quality works. Both phenomenos have created stress in construction sector.
Development has started in states like U.P, Bihar, Orissa and Jharkhand from where bulk of labour force used to come to various parts of the country. So, natural preference of a worker shall be to get the job near to his place of residence, thus, the shortage of manpower all over the country.
There are few training institutions in the country to train our masons, plumbers, electricians, carpenters etc. The general practice is that skilled labours learn their profession at site, thus are not upto desired standards.
The answer to above problems is to firstly go for mechanization of our works and secondly open ITI in every place of the country, and encourage workers to attend institutes and then join the work force. Both the above attempts shall improve our quality of works and completing works as per schedule.
